Mount Assiniboine Lodge: Rates

WINTER: Feb 19 - April 2, 2025 - SOLD OUT!

We will continue to offer small group experiences with a maximum of 12 guests and 2 guides per tour. Our winter season runs from February 19 – April 2, 2025 with two helicopter exchange days on Sundays and Wednesdays(no Fridays) for three night or four night stays. We will again offer one style of ski guiding per tour – either Alpine Ski Touring, or Back Country Nordic. Self guided skiing is not allowed. Our Nordic skiing is not track-set and on unmarked trails so requires guiding. Varying weather conditions can cover up tracks in minutes, making it difficult, if not impossible for guests unfamiliar with the terrain to navigate their way. Please refer to the Ski Tour Schedule below. We will pair our winter adventures with our delicious cuisine and excellent service that you know and love.

We will also continue to accept exclusive private groups of up to 12 people. We are able to accommodate private groups with one ski style only, mixtures of styles cannot be accommodated. Private groups may switch the ski style attached to the dates below to whatever style you want. Imagine yourself and a group of your best friends and family enjoying beautiful Assiniboine Lodge all to yourselves. Make lifetime memories together with your group exploring vast acres of snow covered Rocky Mountains and meadows with legendary views and starry nights in the peace and tranquility of Mt Assiniboine Provincial Park…mind blowing!

Winter 2025 Ski Program Availability: SOLD OUT!

To go on our waitlist, please email us at info@assiniboinelodge.com and indicate the number of people in your party and which ski style you are hope to do - Alpine Ski Touring or Back Country Nordic Skiing(see descriptions below)...

Alpine Ski Touring - this style of skiing is done when we use Alpine Touring gear which includes a wide ski that allows us to float above the snow and has a heel release and skins. We tour along the alpine meadows with our heals released cross country style, then when we find a nice slope, we “skin” uphill with the intention of getting to the top of the hill. We then take off the skins, lock in our heels to the skis, and ski downhill style to the bottom. You need to be a strong intermediate downhill skier with experience skiing untracked power. You need to be fit and strong enough to ski full days of uphill and downhill alpine touring at a reasonably steady pace.

Back Country Nordic Skiing - usually uses a "light touring ski" which is a wider ski than a traditional cross-country ski but not as wide as Alpine Touring ski. With BCN we stay along the valley bottoms, cross-country skiing for the most part. It’s not track set but the guide will lead and you follow in his/her tracks through the meadows. Skins are also sometimes used but that is usually to get up a small hill and not with the intention of locking down our heels to get in some downhill turns. You need to be fit and strong enough to cross country ski at least 4 hours per day at a reasonably steady pace.

A Note About Dietary and Medical Concerns:

We are a remote backcountry lodge and an emergency evacuation could take up to 48 hours due to poor weather conditions and inability to fly at night.  Please consider this before planning a trip to our lodge.  We will make an effort to accommodate allergies and dietary restrictions, but as our kitchen regularly cooks with wheat flour and nuts we are not able to guarantee that food will be free of these or other allergens.

Due to the high number of special dietary requests and only one chef on staff, your restriction(s) may be grouped in with other restrictions.  For example, if you can't eat red meat, you may be given a vegan option.  You will be asked to eat around your restrictions when there are other options available.

We ask that guests bring their own bread and baking (cookies, granola bars, etc.) if your diet restrictions/allergens are commonly found in these items.  This is the best way to ensure there is no cross-contamination. Please do not include preferences when asked about dietary restrictions, as it makes it harder for us to give proper attention to guests with allergies.

If you require a CPAP machine, please make sure it is battery operated.
