Twenty cm of new snow has fallen in the last 24 hours. This has been accompanied by wind. Anyone skiing in should expect to be breaking trail, and expect to have portions of the trail that are hard to see. It is recommended that people carry a map/ have a GPS device, or have very good past knowledge of where the trail is. The Banff/ Kootenay Park avalanche bulletin should be checked at avalanche.ca. Please follow the bulletins travel advice. A portion of the Assiniboine pass route is exposed to Avalanches from the Alpine Everyone should have a beacon, probe and shovel.
