A mountain girl from birth, Tina was born in Banff, Alberta in 1978. Tina has two sisters. One is her identical twin! Culinary Arts are in Tina’s blood. Her father was the Executive chef at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel. Tina’s mom is also part of the mountain hospitality industry working as a tour director and guide.

Growing up downhill skiing and hiking, it was a natural fit for Tina to work in the backcountry. Her first stint was in 1996 at Shadow Lake Lodge. Tina began cooking in the summer of 1997 at 19 years old. Since then as well as cooking at Assiniboine Lodge, she has cooked in various capacities at Lake O’Hara Lodge and at several CMH lodges.

When Tina’s not cooking up a storm at Assiniboine Lodge, she lives in Invermere, B.C. with her long-term partner Ryan Bavin, a glassblower at Bavin Glassworks and Hiking Guide at CMH Bugaboos.
